A WORD ABOUT GOD'S ETERNAL SALVATION
When we speak of salvation, we are
referring to the eternal, free salvation spoken of in God's holy word, the
Bible.
Mr. Webster defines salvation thus:
"the act of saving or being saved; preservation from destruction;
rescue; in theology the redemption of a man from the bondage of sin and
liability to eternal death; the saving of the soul through the atonement
of Jesus."
Let us ask some questions and find
their answers in the Bible.
1. Why do we need to be saved?
Because we are born sinners.
"Wherefore as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world and death
by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."
(Romans 5:12) "As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one:
there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable;
there is none that doeth good, no, not one." (Romans 3:10-12)
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
(Romans 3:23)

day there are many ways; good works, baptism, church membership, etc. But
according to the Bible there is only ONE way. "I
am THE WAY, the truth and the life." (John 14:6) "For by
grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the
gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians
2:8,9) "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23).
3. How is it that we can be saved by
Jesus Christ?
First, because of Who He is. He is the
VIRGIN BORN SON OF GOD (Luke 1:31-35). Secondly, because of His sacrifice.
He did more than make salvation POSSIBLE; He made i

Word of God." (Romans 10:17)
